Today I attempted to interview Pharrell Williams, the American hip-hop artist from N.E.R.D. and fashion extraordinaire. I'm writing a feature on Mexico City's 'sneakerhead' culture, or those who collect limited edition and highly stylized sneakers, often waiting hours in line to spend wads of cash on a single pair. However, the media with video cameras were given preference to ask meaningless questions such as, "Are Mexican fans the best in the world?" I was left sans interview, standing around like a desperate fan trying to get a piece of the action. Thus, I leave you with nothing of journalistic merit, just a nice little clip to rub in your face that I saw a celebrity.
